James Billington has worked as a professional vocalist, primarily in the South West of England for over 15 years. Most of this work has been within the swing and jazz genre, however he has also worked with other bands singing pop and rock music as well as a few professional ventures in musical theatre.
In 2021, James' new UK tour of Magnificent Bublé premiered with multiple dates in the diary scheduled, visiting regional theatres up and down the country. The show featuring a 12 piece big band celebrates the music and the tours of the main man himself and is a fantastic night filled with over two hours of fabulous music.
James fronts the extremely popular Swing, Jazz & Party band, All Jazzed Up - a five and seven piece band which performs all over the country for public and private events. AJU are also the host band for one of the country's most successful weekly live music events, Ocean Jazz Nights, at Ocean - Exmouth, which attracts up to 200 people every week.
As well as performing with AJU, James regularly performs with another professional band, The Drat Pack and also runs regular duo and trio gigs alongside pianists, guitarists and sax players.
During the Covid-19 lockdown, James has been busy recording material for a brand new musical in which he plays the leading role. Information about this show will be released in due course.
